Having had a couple of operations, things are better but only for short periods of time. How I have blessed eBooks! They are great but, like you, I hope and pray that they will never replace the real thing. After all, some people watch DVD's and still go to the cinema; some people listen to CD's and still go to concerts.<br /><br />Interestingly, looking at the royalty statements for M's earliest books, they are selling almost exactly the same number of printed books as they are eBooks (although I am not sure how significant that is).Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06229681501887795967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7056162936481787793.post-15487117266482571032012-05-30T16:32:20.823+02:002012-05-30T16:32:20.823+02:00Ha, Talli, thank you! I was opposed to e-books because ...This is so true. I was opposed to e-books because to me books have soul. People are already separated from each other by several modern inventions- air-conditioning and television. No more sitting on your hot porch at night with neighbors. Movie theaters still exist but are tiny, claustrophic spaces- not the grand palaces and events of yore. This all leads to lonely, dysfunctional societies. Libraries and book stores are probably next. The smell and feel of real books traded for downloading e-books. The question is- would we go back to the way it was?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7056162936481787793.post-22204873011946778332012-05-29T14:09:57.472+02:002012-05-29T14:09:57.472+02:00I am 17 and part of what you call the "electr...I am 17 and part of what you call the "electronic generation"<br /><br />Books smell good.
